July 09 Talking about Did you know you need a cert. to clean toilets??
Quote Did you know you need a cert. to clean toilets?? July 05 Did you know you need a cert. to clean toilets??Read Title.
You need a cert. for a lot of things now, you need a cert to show that you're out of work. you need a cert to show that you're crazy,
you need a cert to prove you are dead... .
And I'm definitely weird; abnormal; and 100%dum; pure dum, someone certify me??? Don't forget the degree of dumness; it needs
to be quantified... .
My point is, no matter how good you are; or bad you are, interviewers are always, always fond of dissecting you first or even
getting into any tiny or error or fault in your CV, certs, continuities from job to job, etc. God, what exactly are probations for anyway,
are all these dissecting and digging for faults necessary??? The official the went on the radio 18th floor Block C showGood ol Mr Ma; went on the 18C radio show on its 40th birthday, he resigned from government
because of a "AC/DC" abnormal arterial/venal growth; I call it AC/DC which the doctors say is
probably malignant. So similarly was other resignees diagnosed with malignant or
terminal diseases and, still will most likely live on to see the Beijing Olympics and probably
the 2012 and 2016?
Mr Ma has great credentials cross continents and his rank in government is not trivial. In the
show, he plays an investment manager who manages a charity fund. Even in a show, he'plays
such an important part. Could it be a satire? The government giving out candies? Could it be some
kind of a solution; suggestion or inspiration for people to think seriously about starting up charity
funds to redistribute wealth for a good cause??? God knows what some people's real intention
are... .
Anyway, Mr Ma, you're a good man, and I salute your courage!!! Anyone with credentials ike you
are bound to have something wrong with their heads. Let alone those with super high IQ; intelligence
clearances; those who know too much... . To let go of this helluva job
and do something; or at least; deliver a message that's meaningful. Instead of participating in
barking at each other in an antique building... . is indeed much much more worth the while... . June 02 Where is my blog???Missing blog. Wanted. Blog, alive... .
I had this whole lot of blabbering on my blog since years and its gone recently.
Something about Chinese barns; about Shirley Temples; about Fire in Junk Bay;
about Jonathan Livingston Seagull; about husbands acting good examples to wives;
about God's teaching... .
And one day, swoosh, it's all gone up in smokes (this is imagery)... .
Hope its got nothing to do with freedom of speech, pray it's not... . February 24 Be thankful for every passing day22:53 almost another day; I'm thankful I made it to the Sunday service and the sermon I heard.
Another day, another dollar. I didn't work today, it's a Sunday, but my wife and me did spend quite
some bit. On meals, on grocery, a watch (wooden shelled) and something else... . We rested for I am
down with a cold and I am treated with some medicine. Feeling much better now after the nap in the afternoon.
It sure's been a long cold spring; it was drizzling a bit today and the plants on the balcony were growing quite well.
I watered and gave it some fertilizer. The wife cleaned the rabbits cage and we bought some Forti-Diet for them.
That's about all the agrculture we did on our part. Not much else we could do... . Life remembering there is a God is indeed
rewarding. I got a new job, but I don't credit myself for it, I believe it's all God's doing and there's nothing I can do without
God... ., not that I will have my crumbs if I do nothing, still, I'll try on and do what I can to upkeep myself and my state of mind... .
I'm thankful, though sometimes, the work I do is physically demanding... .
Months later... .
Looks like some people green with youKNOWwat is dying to see how sane I'll become without work, whaddya know, "Long
Vacation" time again, if only they'd give me a break giving me less challenges to the limits, like what? Yeah, like working
Mr Bean up the Arnold Schwarzenaegger, or Mr Bean up the Einstein way. Butt, I'm neither of any. Like telling me to move
a tonne of steel drill rods down a short slope; like giving me a hard time sniffing chloroform or some low grade thinner or
some hazardous enough chemicals that make me allergic; like telling me to climb up 10 feet ladders to clean louvres; like helping
lifting a hunk of a air conditioner up for fixture with two other helpers on ladders or walk in the sun from one place to another
ending up 8,9 places in a day; day after day; week after week; month after month. Yes, if this is not training for a good career,
every second counts, my training starts any day; from I don't know when to I don't know when; anywhere; all-weather; in every
form; bending; cranking; twisting;squishing; squatting; squirming; extending; lifting; whatever they will think of next; then it must be the
engineering of that finale accident that will end me off... . See, they'd die to see if I'm still thankful.
Tell you what, if I'm not thankful, would I be sitting up through this night to keep on hacking this keyboard and nagging and
groaning and moaning. As I always say, I may not be strong, I may not be able to do everything, there IS something I can do
and have done. Those occasions? I quit... . I didn't want people to believe I'm all muscles plus all brains, I'm not. I don't like to
be in peoples' ways to "success" neither. I'd like to let people know people with faith can do things proper instead of just
poking calculators and keyboards; sitting pretty in their offices without ever visiting or sweating in the field hardly ever for one
single half-day; and they can still "survive" their jobs their "work hard but smart" way. But then, when you do things proper, they
begin to like you in your spot and keeps you frozen there? Then you can get bored just as they've designed it and just, leave, that's
in perfect calculation and economical. Ziz iz management. It only need a punctuation mark to make some phrase make sense. If,
you know what i mean... . I am a dollar note even if I'm a crumpled one.
Training is forever, this is like the Hindu caste system, you're a slave, you're a slave for life. An educated slave for life, or
as a previous employer puts it, a dishwasher drinking Heineken is a "dishwasher with taste", but I was still a dishwasher, nothing more.
Mind you, so what if your graduated with a BSc, you can still be bummed off a dishwasher job by some pregnant woman whom the boss
says she needs the job more (actually, she's probably his pregnant wive's sister)... . Whadda... . Well, you can always sabotage something;
fix-up some figures; twist this and that around; and presto, there, you can be a boss too, for you've created jobs for a poor trouble-shooter
or auditor who has to untangle all the knots from that mess you've created for whatever "good" reason that was orginally and tactfully
intentioned, be it a shortage of parts; labor or time.
Oh yeah, it's always the newcomers fault, for he's the least experienced, least skilled and moment he's fired or ousted, all dirt goes out with him; all
blames go with him and the company starts with a full clean slate... . Or, fire or oust the sucker before you have to commit to hire him for a year
and contribute to his mandatory provident fund. Or, keep on using the government's subsidy programs for middle-age employees,
teenagers; interns; get all the benefits before committing him to contract employment and apply for a new candidate and more continual subsidy.
How wonderful and fortunate the world is so full of smartalecs??? My Cross
I bear my cross; sometimes it's heavy; but all in all, it keeps me blessed and it's about all I have to say, for now... . The sound of silenceSometimes we realize when we quiet down and rest ourselves in a room with no noise; we can hear bells ringing in our ears.
Could be high frequency waves that's shaking our eardrums, I really don't know. But it's not a good sign, some health experts say,
the Chinese Medical Doctors say when the ears ring, it means we are weak from either not having enough sleep or not well-nourished.
Some times we can hear such high frequency sounds from TV, but even when we switch off the TV, the ringing persists; could it be something
that relates to our memory???
I could find this out by asking others on the Yahoo Quiz module but meanwhile; I'll just ponder at this strange phoenomena and see if the ringing
I can still remember when I was studying in Canada, everything really quiets down, no bell ringing, when its silent at night. Not that the moon is rounder
overseas, there's just less noise from radios; TVs; passer-bys; less honking of horns; less yelling; less decibels humming and hissing and weeing in the background.
And, the best thing is, slower pace, less stress... . In some towns, pedestrians really pace slower; speak more quietly where you don't have to compete to
get yourself heard..., yes, perhaps, after all, this is the reason why, some people think the moon overseas is indeed rounder... . February 11 Talking about Stories from the front line - Military - MSNBC.com
Quote If it weren't for crooks and offenders; we wouldn't need cops... . Stories from the front line - Military - MSNBC.com February 04 Dis thing call the "barn" is darn depressingWell, to be honest, this is not my first draft, writing about this Barn Art Gallery at the ToKwaWan (old KaiTak vicinity).
The Barn is located in a modernly-recently-urbanized residential area, and it was really a barn for cows back in the 60s, I
believe. I said that, because I could barely smell lots of cows as I rode buses passing by the Barn back in some of those days.
Us Chinese, some of us know, Barns were not good treatments for the educated during the Cultural Revolution back in the 40s.
Now in the 2008, I tend to smell something but could not sense what it really is.
Elton John had the song, "he's going back to his plough". But with the allergens and the new thosian and thisian disease; the Thisian
and Thatian Flu, its really difficult for the hackers to put down the keyboards and go back to the "plough". What a way to think of to
"punish" the brain-workers... .
Last thing but the least, I keep on blabbering and wasting energy, but I hope brings some people to the light that if they really have something
constructive to say, please voice it out and let people have some solution as to the dilemmas and problems we all are encountering
in this "cold-green-house-affected" world. January 24 You might wonder about my name; kinda weird? In case you wonder about the name I gave myself: short-lived lizard sharpei dogleg: I've never see myself
as anything important, look at my career: it's in a total mess.
Short life; never-mind. I mean, I have a good wife and life's been treating me well, but as long as life
is colorful and filled with something, call it content, call it stuffed up..., life doesn't necessarily have to
be long to be desirable. I've worked at hospitals: looking at the elderlies poked with tubes and needles
and not being able to go to the toilet..., I wish I could go..., in a better shape, or form, or whatever.
Dog-leg? Chinese people like to call people dogs, dead dog, crazy dog; and running dogs; and there's this
running leg thing: meaning a messenger who runs around. Well, I guess that pretty well answer most of
the FAQs about this crazy name I gave myself. Lizard? It means lizard and it rhymes with "knowing how to
translate" in Chinese; "Cantonese", that is. It was a nick my students gave me when I used to teach... .
Local news say the recent stock slide caused some 50 or 500 billion of USD face value to evaporate from the
market. I had even trouble counting the digits in that number, let alone the accountants and brokers and
data-entrists who collaborated and cooperated to clear up that amount in such short notice. They and the computers
must have a few nights of sleepless overwork overnight... . It is, I mean, indeed, a crazy world, after all. January 18 Talking about DisIsAFloodLight
Quote You can call this a spot light or you can call this a flood light cos it floods a football field with light; not an eay task to set up considering you have to tilt it up 90 degrees to about 7~8 M high..., engineering? construction? power? connections? coordination? not easy!!! While it lights the players all participating in games and their audience taking sides and cheering their team... .; these are efforts; these are recreation... . DisIsAFloodLight December 20 Valentino's name was Rudolph; was he red-nosed and did he make a scene?Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,
had a very shiny nose,
and all the reindeers loved him,
la la la la see it glow.
Then one foggy Christmas eve,
Santa came to say,
"Rudolph with you nose so bright,
won't you guide my sleigh tonite?"
"... they'd never let poor Rudolph,
join in any reindeer games..."
Couldn't really link any Valentino to Rudolph the reindeer or Valentine's day. Guess it doesn't make sense.
Valentines make me remember my present honey; and Rudolph reminds of Jasper and Santa Claus and winter conference and...,
well, long long time ago... .
Hope everybody thinks only about pleasant memories of past Christmases and may your 2007 Christmas be very memorable and pleasant one for years to come... .
Bearing gifts, they traverse afar,
For'st and fountain, moors and mountain,
Following yonder star,
O- oh, star of wonder, star of nite,
star of royal, beauty bright...,
O carols, I am but a fool,
carols, I missed you,
messing all the rules,
Some lyrics, too bad I can't remember all of dem,
Ho, ho, ho , Deck the halls with boughs of hollies,
Fa la la la la, la la la , la
T'is the season to be jolly... ,
And it brings the Hollies back to my memory,
gotta stop, wishing you all a Never-ending Ever-going year-round Christmas... . ciao felix navidad, joyeux noel
October 11 Talking about New Crop of Leaders Could Radically Alter China - Newsweek: World News - MSNBC.comHere's someone's view of the country's future... click link belowQuote New Crop of Leaders Could Radically Alter China - Newsweek: World News - MSNBC.com October 09 愛犬要死了......鳴 Some sort of an ode to Bill, not an orbituary愛犬亞Bill已生了肌肉瘤兩三年了,可憐的標當我們的Secu犬十多年,很不捨得把他人道掉。
If the vets have to take him away, sigh, I'm afraid my brother and I will miss Bill so much. Bill's like our brother,
our son.
Bill, be strong, live on. He's like ONJ's song about, I don't remember her pet's name..., can't recall, I think it's Sam.
I still remember staring at Bill first time eye-to-eye, he was just a puppy: through the corridor into the rear bedroom, he just
crouched there and stared at me and gave me a growl. At that instance, I knew he was a good watch-dog... . He was, until he got older
and we tended to leave him alone in the house too often.
Bill, I wish I had more time to stay with you and take you out for walks. Remember that time I took you out for a jog when you
were young and you outran me??? Bill, wish you can understand what I'm thinking about and our memories together.
I used to squat down and held my arms in a circle and you'd curl up in them. You were a puppy then... .
Bill, if you have to go, go, just hope the tumor will not hurt you, but we hope you'll know, we'll miss you, very much... . September 04 New on the job and loving itLife's like that. You hunt for one job trying to be a job hopper; and all of a sudden, they pop up like prairie-dogs.
Finally got kinda settled in this new i'm-not-sure-what post: doing bits and pieces of this and that. Don't really mind it, kinda fun to
do the variety like a jack-of-all-trades.
Wish I could keep this job. I have this crunch for job-sharing; so I do it voluntarily, kinda fits into the co's budget in slow times, I guess. Just
apply for no-pay-urgent-leaves for whatever reason impromptu... . It's not a good attitude, really, but it's a solution to save my own job, I guess... . June 01 Enviro-Bacts!!!! Get them in control!!! PleeeeezHope some people know what I'm blabbering about. Just trying to ring a bell; not trying to be an angel; I'm just human
You know, scientists like Hugo Ago-go; they like thinking about inventing things at first, with a first intention to save energy; resource; and prevent health hazards.
Par example: these rust-proof; grease-eating; pest-killing; weed-terminating and disease-controlling bacteria they cooked up, gusess shouldn't say they, we say we, we're all
in it. It, meaning benefitting from them and yet at the same time getting burned by them.
By burning, I mean: allergies, over-population of unbalanced micro-ecology etc etc. Ever wonder how: hand-foot-mouth blisters come from? how do encephalitis come from?
Yes, exotic, not erotic, could be erotic too, I'm not ignoring them, to be on the safe side: novelty germs are being bred originally for a good purpose until they escaped and
got wild.
Perhaps this is bullshit, I really don't know. I'm not a bacteria scientist, but I realize there are green copper oxides growing wild on my air-cond unit on the radiator copper tubings. And perhaps I really should have paid better attention to it before I got my forearm and finger full of blisters from the allergens that we breathed out of my old air-cond
Where'd all these green oxides come from, a vegetable all right, and some bacteria is feeding on them and on me and my wife while we sleep Or either some pest that are fond of these bacteria that fed on us when they're hungry... . so that's what's been causing the ichibaness while we scratch ourselves to we rather die.
And as they live well fed, we live too, not painfully, but ichibannically.
All I'm saying is, we need to keep on polishing and removing oxides physically rather than depending on rust-or-oxide-proofing bacteria. Come to think of it, perhaps, polishes are the stuff that has these bacteria in them??? Hush, ancient chinese secret...... . Hush.... .
Engineers and bio-chemists and medical people need to co-operate to do a research on these. Anyone inarested????
MARK THIS! INDOOR AIR QUALITY SOCIETY... .
'
February 04 Get my point, read my joint.Perhaps money is just made of paper, but its actually backed by so much effort; resource and hard work.
It is not just "created" or "printed"; somewhere; somehow; there's a mechanism or some systems interlinked and interacting to regulate its supply. Be it intentional or fluked, be it market-oriented or non-market-oriented.
Somewhere in the Bible, there's a verse that says "things work out together for the benefit of those who have reverence for the "Maker""
gtg: the boss just came back, see you later when I wander back to this site again
So, when you see the rainbow, never fear. The maker is not finished with us yet, be patient... .
European markets fell a bit today at Feb7, MacIntosh fell, GM decreased its dividends by 50%, there's pressure for selling. Butt, this Mid-East, and crisis in Denmark about the cartoon caused some anxiety. US real estates sales was quite optimistic, this pressure to sell starting to build up after annual reports of past years performance.
Gold an oil fell a bit, this Yen is retaining foreign currencies.
Prime rate adjustment pending economic weather.
Andy Williams coming to HK.
Getting kinda worldly here, talking about $$$.
Somewhere at the end of the rainbow, lies you're promised land; your dreams come-true... .
Hope is what keeps us going on; stay positive minded and do be alert about being too negative. Don't be cynical about anything, in a epitaph the Desiderate: there's always a place in the universe for every one of us... . same as the trees and the stars. This is American, yes, call it poison, I call it tranquilizer. Mr. Earth is ill, so is every one in it. I'm not being cynical.
Google planning to go listed in the S&P500, butt this China business was somehow doing some influence.
Lotsa exchange. Uranium concentrate issue in Iran causing worries... . Not to panic.
UN counsel is watching. No one knows about religious believes and how they merge or conflicts.
Me gone.
So much about oil and gold.
A little crane was found dead. Someone noticed. Pet birds are planned to be banned.
A religious girl was missing in Malaysia on a prayer tour. Sigh. Her Octopus card (local transit fare card) kept on being deducted during her disappearance... .
Metropolitan News 104metrofinance.com
BP had good show last year, but after the reports, its performance on the market yesterday was not as ideal as expected.
Intel has to be carefully handled. Chips good yield but it needs perpetual innovation.
Me gone. See things being blabbered on the radio?
Signing off... . 22;55 Feb07/2006
Signing on again 02:36 Sep04/2007 North Korea agreed to restrain or somehow uncover the amount of its nuclear reserves. this might stimulate the market???
